Commercial yachts carrying passengers for payment or commercial cargo do not use the same recreational-yacht procedure and must follow commercial-vessel rules. Ports of entry / departure
Foreign-flagged yachts must arrive and depart through frontier ports. This database records 41 ports from the Ministry of Culture and Tourism list; confirm vessel acceptance, opening hours and berthing arrangements before sailing.
The official list covers 41 frontier seaports, but naming a seaport does not mean every private marina in that city can clear vessels. Before departure, confirm that the relevant Customs/border port currently accepts private yachts, its hours and the procedures at the next port.

Pre-arrival reporting
Türkiye’s Ministry of Trade says Customs matters for foreign-flagged yacht arrival and departure are declared using the Seyir İzin Belgesi (Transit Log) and processed at the first Turkish port. Official information does not indicate that a Transit Log must be obtained before arrival in Türkiye. Yachts must still cross through designated maritime border ports and complete the process after arrival as instructed.

Immigration
Türkiye’s foreign-flagged yacht guidance says entry and crew information are recorded through the Transit Log and related procedures, with relevant information entered in the owner’s or master’s passport. This does not confer a visa exemption; crew visa requirements must be checked by nationality.

Vessel customs
Turkish official guidance requires foreign-flagged recreational yachts to use frontier ports for arrival/departure and use a Transit Log to record vessel, people and related clearance inspections. Commercial passenger or cargo yachts are not covered by this recreational-yacht process.

Biosecurity
Türkiye’s Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry says regulated animals and animal products entering Türkiye are subject to veterinary-document, identity and physical checks. Animals under inspection must be notified at least one working day before arrival; animal products must be declared before arrival, using the relevant veterinary entry documents. This system concerns regulated goods/consignments and should not automatically be treated as the procedure for personal food or pets aboard a private yacht. Confirm whether onboard items may remain aboard, must be declared or sealed with the veterinary inspection service at the actual port.

Restricted items
The UK Foreign Office entry guidance lists controlled medicines, firearms, offensive weapons, endangered species and obscene material among items generally prohibited from being brought into Türkiye, and advises declaring items that may be prohibited or dutiable. This guidance is for UK travellers and does not replace Turkish Customs rules specific to goods aboard foreign yachts, firearm sealing, medicines or food. Confirm requirements with the Turkish authorities based on the vessel’s flag, people’s nationalities and intended use of the items.
