Thailand Customs publishes yacht temporary-entry/departure procedures for Phuket and Krabi provinces, indicating that yacht Customs information is available for those locations. Public information is not a complete national list of designated ports of entry. Before sailing, confirm that the intended port accepts foreign yachts and can provide associated Immigration and quarantine services.

Pre-arrival reporting

Official source checked Checked · 2026-11-04

The Thai government yacht guide requires the master to report to Customs within 24 hours after the yacht arrives in port, using Form 372 and submitting vessel registration, passports and applicable previous-port clearance documents. This is a post-arrival reporting deadline, not a requirement to give notice 24 hours before arrival. Ask local authorities whether a separate pre-arrival notice is required.

Thai government guidance on crew checks for waterborne transport requires the vessel to submit crew/passenger lists and relevant forms. People may go ashore only after meeting Immigration’s permission and identity-document requirements. The guidance covers general waterborne transport; confirm yacht forms and port procedures with the local Immigration office.

Within 24 hours after arrival, the master must report to Customs and submit entry Form 372, vessel registration, passports, previous-port clearance and other required documents. If the owner is not aboard, an authorization letter is required. Customs records the entry and issues a special declaration document.

Thai official information classifies live animals as restricted imports. Pets require a permit from the Department of Livestock Development and veterinary inspection; plants and food may also require permits from the responsible authority. The material focuses on travellers and does not explain how stores kept aboard but not landed are treated. Confirm declarations and quarantine requirements for pets, food and plants aboard with the arrival-port quarantine authority in advance.

Thai official lists classify firearms/ammunition, explosives and imitation firearms, plants, live animals, food, medicines and radio communications equipment among goods requiring permits or restrictions. Narcotics, protected wild animals and other listed goods are prohibited imports. These are general import rules; confirm in advance with Customs how goods aboard a yacht must be declared, sealed and re-exported.

The Thai government yacht-entry/exit guide says yachts must report under Customs procedures: submit arrival information after entry and file departure forms and request vessel release before leaving. Phuket Customs also publishes a yacht-arrival procedure page. Confirm the specific process and available ports using current local Customs and port notices.

For departure, submit Form 373 and the port-clearance application Form 378, and present the original special declaration document, passports and other required papers so Customs can close the record. This review did not verify uniform charges or all conditions for temporary-import extensions.
