Scope

This entry provides arrival and departure preparation information for private, non-commercial recreational vessels in Sint Eustatius. Different authorities may handle vessels, people, goods and island visits; third-party experience cited here should be checked against the vessel’s flag, each person’s nationality, purpose and route. Unconfirmed matters do not imply an exemption.

Verification status: Unconfirmed. No local official source has been independently verified for this section. This is a pre-voyage preparation aid, not a statement of legal permission, time limits or fees.

The Sint Eustatius government lists Charles A. Woodley Pier as its main maritime gateway. Whether a recreational vessel can berth depends on its size, draft and port arrangements. International vessels must complete Customs and Immigration formalities. The page does not confirm that the pier can process yacht arrivals at all times; contact the harbour master before sailing.

Pre-arrival reporting

Official source checked Checked · 2026-11-04

The general Dutch Caribbean Customs advance vessel-notification rule exempts recreational vessels, but this does not remove yacht clearance forms, cargo declarations or other legal formalities. Submit information using the yacht-specific Customs form and local port rules, and confirm reporting channels and deadlines with Sint Eustatius Customs.

Immigration

Third-party source Checked · 2026-11-04

For every person, confirm with the Sint Eustatius receiving authority passport validity, visa or advance permission based on nationality, eligibility to arrive by sea, permitted stay and arrangements for crew changes or leaving the vessel. Do not generalize an airport visa on arrival, cruise-group facilitation or one nationality’s travel account into a visa exemption for all private-yacht visitors. Vessel stay and personal immigration status are assessed separately. No general visa-free entitlement is confirmed here.

Vessel customs

Sint Eustatius uses the Dutch Caribbean Customs clearance form for yachts and pleasure craft. It requests owner, flag, arrival/departure dates, previous and next ports, everyone aboard and onboard goods. The form declares international vessel movements; it does not itself authorize people to enter or visit protected areas.

The Sint Eustatius government port page says vessels can contact the harbour master on VHF 16 or at [email protected]. International arrivals must submit Customs and Immigration information. Cargo operating hours on the page should not be treated as yacht-clearance counter hours; confirm berthing, clearance and staff availability with the harbour master in advance.

Fees and departure

Official source checked Checked · 2026-11-04

Dutch Caribbean Customs says recreational vessels are generally exempt from import/export clearance; this exemption does not apply when goods aboard still require Customs formalities. The information lists no uniform yacht clearance fee. Confirm port, berth and any applicable passenger charges with Sint Eustatius authorities.
