Visão geral
Yacht arrival in Saint Lucia involves port, Customs and Immigration formalities; animals or plant material may also require agricultural quarantine permits. Confirm the applicable process separately with the port, Customs, Immigration and quarantine authority for the intended arrival location. Available public information is not a comprehensive official guide covering every private-yacht situation.

Portos de entrada e saída
Saint Lucia’s tourism/government website provides an entry point for yacht navigation and vessel-clearance information, but this review did not find a government page listing a complete, current set of designated yacht ports of entry. Confirm clearance locations with Customs and the receiving port before sailing; the presence of a marina alone does not mean it can clear vessels.

Comunicação prévia à chegada
No uniform pre-arrival notice period for all private yachts was found. Saint Lucia port regulations require the master to submit a vessel arrival report: if a pilot is aboard, the pilot must deliver it before disembarking; without a pilot, the master or agent must submit it to the port authority within one hour after anchoring or berthing. Before departure, confirm the report format and submission method with the intended port.

Imigração
Saint Lucia’s official yacht-clearance guide says arriving vessels may stay for up to three months; anyone seeking an extension must apply in person at the main Immigration office in Castries. The government Immigration services page says yacht crew applying for an extension must provide vessel registration and a Yacht Declaration Form. The extension fee is XCD 200 per 30 days, and the form costs XCD 2. Visa requirements depend on nationality; follow the individual’s entry stamp and the stay period determined by the immigration officer.

Alfândega da embarcação
Section 20 of Saint Lucia’s Customs (Control and Management) Act defines vessels used for private recreation as “pleasure craft” and authorizes rules for their arrival declarations and departure. Customs’ published Yacht Anchorage Regulations also say a yacht may anchor at a place that is not a port of entry only with prior written permission from the Comptroller of Customs. The permission must remain aboard and be surrendered at the first port of entry. Without it, baggage, crew effects, livestock, stores or cargo may not be unloaded there. These provisions do not fully explain temporary-import periods, security or tax treatment of onboard personal-use goods for visiting foreign yachts; confirm with Customs before arrival.

Quarentena e biossegurança
Before importing live animals, animal products or by-products, apply for an import permit from Saint Lucia’s veterinary authority. The government says to apply in advance and warns that animals without permits may be refused entry or handled as prescribed. Agricultural quarantine rules require permits and/or phytosanitary certificates for plants, seeds, fruit and vegetables, depending on the category; soil is prohibited except for laboratory testing or approved research use. Public information does not clarify how these rules apply to pets, food or plants aboard a yacht that remains in transit and does not land them. Confirm with the responsible authority before departure.

Itens proibidos ou restritos
Import and export of firearms and ammunition require the relevant permits in advance; the law also prohibits importing or possessing certain categories of weapons without authorization. Do not assume that declaring a firearm aboard a private yacht is sufficient, and no yacht-specific temporary sealing or storage exemption was found. Before arrival, confirm permit and declaration requirements with Saint Lucia Police/the firearms licensing authority and Customs.

Procedimentos portuários
The Saint Lucia Air and Sea Ports Authority (SLASPA) currently lists yacht facilities at Rodney Bay, Marigot Bay and Soufrière as official ports of entry. SLASPA says Rodney Bay and Marigot Bay are privately operated marinas; Soufrière can accommodate yachts and catamarans. After arrival at an authorized entry point, contact Customs, Immigration and port authorities to complete formalities. The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority yacht guide lists counter locations and contacts, but office hours and on-site service may change; confirm with the marina and responsible authorities before sailing. Do not infer that other commercial ports can clear foreign private yachts from this list.

Taxas e saída
One verified statutory fee is EC$25 for written Customs permission to anchor a yacht at a place that is not a port of entry. That fee applies only to this special anchoring permit; it is not the ordinary arrival/departure clearance fee. The Saint Lucia Tourism Authority guide also lists some yacht-clearance, quarantine and overtime charges, but no complete, current nationwide tariff for visiting yachts issued by Customs/SLASPA was found. SLASPA’s general vessel tariff cannot automatically be applied to yachts. Before arrival, request a current written fee schedule from Customs, the intended marina and port authority.
