Old Doha Port provides private yachts with the MINAKOM online portal/permit service and coordination of arrival formalities. This page describes services at that port and does not establish that all Qatari ports or vessel types must use the same process. Before departure, confirm with the actual receiving port.

Old Doha Port's Minakom service accepts entry applications for private vessels and coordinates passport/immigration and customs formalities. This confirms a processing channel at Old Doha Port only; customs-port lists for other ports do not automatically establish that they receive private yachts. Contact Minakom or the intended port in advance to confirm eligibility and procedures.

Private yachts planning to call at Old Doha Port should submit an application through MINAKOM appropriate to the vessel type and, as the official service recommends, apply at least 48 hours in advance to arrange a berth and immigration/customs formalities. Requirements at other ports or for other vessel types must be confirmed separately; do not treat Old Doha Port's 48-hour service recommendation as a national statutory deadline.

Old Doha Port's Minakom service can coordinate immigration/passport procedures for visiting private vessels. Qatar also offers seafarer visas, but eligibility and application channels are limited; this does not establish that all private-yacht crew qualify. Crew should check visa or visa-free eligibility according to nationality, status and purpose of stay, and verify requirements with Minakom, Qatar's Ministry of Interior or immigration authorities before arrival. A visa does not guarantee admission.

Qatar's Customs Law requires the master of an arriving vessel to submit the ship's manifest, ship's stores and crew-effects lists, passenger list, list of cargo to be unloaded at that port and transport documents. Manifests for non-scheduled vessels, vessels without a local agent or sailing vessels must be endorsed as required by law. Confirm current document deadlines and format with Customs; visiting yachts should also verify port procedures through Minakom/agent.

Qatar's current veterinary quarantine law covers domestic animals. Import of animals and animal products requires prior authorization from the competent authority and must be handled through a designated port; the law lists Doha Sea Port as a statutory sea port for animal transport and requires at least 72 hours' advance notice. Agricultural quarantine law also requires import permits, phytosanitary certificates and declarations for regulated plants/products and prohibits soil/sand and untreated organic fertilizers. These laws concern animals and regulated cargo. Official sources do not specify a special list or inspection procedure for food stores and vessel supplies on private yachts, nor confirm whether Old Doha Port provides quarantine services. Before carrying pets or plant products, confirm requirements with Qatari veterinary/agricultural quarantine authorities and the actual port.

Qatar Customs lists weapons, ammunition, explosives, drugs and other items as prohibited or restricted imports; some restricted goods require approval from the competent authority. The information concerns customs cargo and does not establish an exemption for stores aboard yachts or weapons not landed. If controlled items are aboard, declare them before arrival and confirm permits, sealing and departure arrangements with Customs and the relevant authorities.

Old Doha Port's Minakom portal can be used for yacht arrival enquiries and berth arrangements at that port, with applications handled by a designated logistics agent. The port recommends submitting at least 48 hours in advance. This information applies to Old Doha Port only and does not mean every Qatari port can clear private yachts.

Mwani's 2023 Doha Port tariff lists yacht/private-vessel port dues of QAR 300 per vessel for the first three days, then QAR 300 per vessel per day. The tariff says Qatari-flagged vessels are exempt from this charge. This is a port charge in a specific port document, not a national total for customs clearance or agency fees, and the document is from 2023. Before departure, confirm current rates and applicable conditions with Old Doha Port/Mwani.
