Scope

The Gibraltar Port Authority manages port/yacht services and lists private marinas including Marina Bay, Ocean Village and Queensway Quay. Different agencies handle port, customs and border matters. Before arrival, confirm that the chosen marina can receive this vessel and arrange clearance.

Ports of entry/departure

Private marinas listed by the Port Authority include Marina Bay, Ocean Village and Queensway Quay. Report to the marina Pier Master/reception office and confirm arrangements for port, customs and immigration clearance. Pre-arrival reporting

The master may submit crew, passenger and ship's stores information before ETA through HM Customs' ASYCUDA electronic pre-declaration system to facilitate processing. The official page does not say every private yacht must submit, nor set a uniform minimum advance period. Confirm voyage requirements with customs or the receiving marina.

Immigration

Yacht arrivals undergo Gibraltar Borders and Coastguard Agency checks. Prepare crew/passenger lists and passport details. Verify visas and personal eligibility separately by nationality and travel document. The Port Authority clearance process does not guarantee admission for every traveller.

Vessel customs

Private pleasure craft require customs clearance. Prepare crew lists with names, nationalities and passport numbers, plus flag and port-of-registration details. Temporary import for non-permanent local residents and permanent import follow separate rules.

Quarantine and biosecurity

Government maritime information lists a Maritime Declaration of Health among relevant vessel documents. It also covers merchant vessels and does not establish that all documents and animal/plant checks apply to private yachts. Confirm pets, food, plants and waste requirements by actual item with customs and health authorities.

Prohibited and restricted items

Controlled medicines, firearms, explosives, ivory and some knives face import restrictions. Do not bring them in without confirmation.

Arrival formalities

On arrival, report to the booked marina's Pier Master office and contact customs/border authorities for clearance as directed. Out-of-hours arrangements, berths and documents may vary by marina and voyage. Obtain written confirmation in advance.

Fees and departure

Port Authority tariffs depend on services and vessel category. For example, its superyacht berthing, including anchoring, page lists £6.50 per metre per day. This is not a uniform private-yacht outward-clearance fee. Confirm berthing, port services, certificates and agents with the Port Authority by vessel type and service. Complete customs and border formalities before leaving.
