概要

公式資料 確認日 · 2026-11-04本文の言語 · English

German Federal Police states that yachts arriving by sea from outside Schengen should normally enter an authorised border crossing for inspection, with exceptions only under statutory conditions. Its information is not a complete private-yacht clearance checklist. Verify designated ports and current requirements before sailing.

Ports of entry/departure

External-border crossings require an authorised Grenzübergangsstelle. Non-designated locations must meet exceptional permission conditions; an arbitrary port call does not establish entry.

Federal Police states that recreational craft crossing borders within Schengen/the EU normally have no routine border declarations, although spot checks remain possible. Arrivals across the Schengen external border must use authorised border-check ports. No uniform nationwide yacht notice deadline is given. Hamburg has separate local crew-list reporting requirements, which must not be extended nationally.

Immigration

Pleasure craft on direct voyages to/from non-Schengen countries undergo Schengen external-border entry/exit checks. Internal Schengen travel normally requires no special border permission, subject to lawful spot checks or temporary measures.

Important 2026 update | European Entry/Exit System (EES): Since April 10, 2026, EES has been fully operational at the external border crossings of the 29 participating countries. Eligible non-EU short-stay travellers may need to register passport details, facial images/fingerprints and entry/exit times. Exemptions apply; applicability cannot be determined solely by the vessel's flag. Private yachts must confirm processing arrangements with the actual receiving border port; this does not mean every domestic port can provide clearance.

ETIAS status (November 3, 2026): The official EU website states that it is not yet operational and applications are not being accepted. It is not a travel authorisation currently required for purchase. Recheck once implementation dates are announced.

Vessel customs

Federal Police expressly notes that customs and navigation-supervision requirements still apply alongside border checks. This entry has not verified every vessel tax status.

EU vessel Temporary Admission (separate from personal permitted stays): Qualifying private yachts registered outside the EU and used mainly by eligible residents outside the EU can normally be used temporarily within the EU customs territory for 18 months, with customs duty/import VAT temporarily relieved. Taxes may become due if conditions are not met, the vessel is used commercially or it is not re-exported on time. This is not an 18-month personal visa.

On first entering the EU from a non-EU country, onboard food, animal/plant products and pets must comply with EU border health/biosecurity rules according to category and origin. Meat and dairy from outside the EU are generally prohibited; certain fruit, vegetables, fish, honey and eggs are permitted only within specified conditions/quantities. Dogs, cats, ferrets and similar pets normally need EU health documents, identification and rabies compliance. Before arrival, confirm actual goods and origins with German Customs and local veterinary/border inspection authorities. Subsequent EU voyages also require compliance with applicable EU rules.

Yachts and goods entering from outside the EU must follow EU customs rules. Qualifying non-EU-flag pleasure craft can apply for temporary import, normally 18 months, extendable under qualifying conditions to no more than 24 months overall. This regime is not a ship's stores restricted-items list. Check controlled goods separately by category.

Recreational craft entering Germany across the Schengen external border must choose an authorised border-check port. Internal EU/Schengen voyages normally involve no routine border declarations but may face spot checks. Third-country yacht temporary-import eligibility and procedures follow separate EU customs rules. Hamburg's crew-list reporting is local, not a national process.

The European Commission's 2026 Guidance on Customs Formalities for Pleasure Craft states that privately used yachts registered outside the EU and owned by persons established outside its customs territory may normally use temporary admission with full import-duty relief. Normally, entry into EU customs territory can itself constitute a declaration, but customs may designate routes, require oral/written declarations or guarantees. The guide gives no uniform German yacht departure-clearance amount. Temporary-admission customs treatment is separate from marina, mooring and other port-service fees. Confirm local charges and formalities with the actual port.
