The FSM Code requires admissible vessels to clear through an official entry port before proceeding elsewhere. Vessels in distress may call at other ports, but the master must immediately notify the nearest federal representative or state government. The Code lists state entry ports. Confirm current yacht acceptance and inspection staffing with the intended port before sailing.

For a private-yacht visit to the FSM, contact federal immigration at least 72 hours ahead to confirm vessel entry permission, designated first entry port, crew details and arrival arrangements. Federal law also requires foreign-vessel masters to submit the prescribed vessel manifest at the designated entry port. Individual crew entry/stay conditions depend on nationality, route and duration; confirm applications and fees with immigration.

Fees may differ by state, port and vessel; no uniform private-yacht tariff has yet been verified.
