Official Cameroonian port sources confirm that the Douala–Bonabéri Port is managed by the Douala Port Authority and Kribi Port is operated by the Kribi Port Authority. Public information for both mainly describes commercial port and harbour services; it does not confirm that either port can provide full entry clearance for foreign private yachts. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs provides visa information. Before sailing, confirm the applicable port of entry and arrangements for this vessel and voyage with the port, Immigration, Customs, Port Health and maritime authorities.

Article 343 of the Comoros Customs Code says people arriving from a foreign port in the Customs territory must proceed immediately to the nearest designated port for passenger/cargo declarations and inspection and report to the port authority under current rules. If the designated port is closed or unavailable, report to the authority at another port. People must declare and present goods, baggage and transport documents and may not dispose of goods before inspection. The article does not specify a yacht ETA-notice period or dedicated electronic form. Before departure, ask Customs at the intended port to confirm the designated clearance port, vessel/crew/passenger information, Immigration and health requirements, and accepted notification methods. Do not treat “report immediately after arrival” as a verified pre-arrival deadline.

Cameroon’s Ministry of Tourism general traveller Customs information lists temporary duty-free treatment for certain personal effects and says hunting firearms/ammunition require an import permit. This is not a temporary-import rule specific to private yachts or vessel equipment. Before sailing, ask Customs how the vessel, equipment and stores should be declared, the temporary-import/transit period, whether security is required and what re-export/cancellation process applies on departure. Do not apply traveller-baggage allowances to an entire vessel.

Cameroon’s Plant Health Protection Act says regulated plants and plant products may require a phytosanitary certificate and import permit and must enter through a point specified in the permit. The Ministry of Tourism’s general Customs guidance also requires health formalities for people bringing cats and dogs. Public information does not give complete rules for food, pets, waste or maritime health declarations on yachts. Before carrying animals/plants, food or pets, confirm documents, inspections and handling with agricultural/plant quarantine, veterinary and Port Health authorities.

Cameroon’s Ministry of Tourism Customs guidance says hunting firearms and ammunition require an import permit. Current U.S. State Department travel advice further recommends not bringing firearms, ammunition or cartridge casings into the country. Because public sources differ in how they describe permit circumstances, obtain written guidance for the specific items and voyage from Cameroon Customs and the responsible authority before departure; do not carry firearms or ammunition until authorization is confirmed. Also check declarations for controlled medicines, wildlife products and other permit-required goods.

No official uniform clearance process for private yachts in Cameroon was found. Contact the port authority in advance and coordinate with Immigration, Customs, Port Health and maritime authorities to confirm reporting sequence, waiting anchorage, shore-leave permission, agent requirements and office hours. Douala Port Authority publishes contact information; Kribi Port Authority lists routine office hours as Monday–Friday, 08:00–17:00, but that does not confirm that border-clearance counters operate on the same schedule.

The Comoros Customs Code requires vessels to complete Customs formalities before departure; applicable vessels must have a manifest and vessel/cargo Customs documents endorsed by Customs, and small craft need Customs permission to leave (Articles 176–177). The Code also provides specific tax treatment for reasonable quantities of food/stores retained aboard, but this is not a port or yacht-clearance tariff. The Customs material reviewed did not publish a uniform clearance, port, agent or departure fee schedule for foreign private yachts; this does not establish that clearance is free. Request an itemized written quote from Customs and port/maritime authorities at the departure port and confirm declaration/release requirements.
